
Rekha Gupta Attacked During Jan Sabha
On 20th August, the Delhi CM was attacked during Jan Sabha in Civil Lines. The incident took place at a public meeting at the CM’s house. Rekha Gupta was dragged by the attacker. The alleged attacker is taken into custody by the police. She was taken to the hospital. The Delhi police is investigating the incident.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that “Opposition cannot tolerate that a chief minister can engage with everyone, that she shares so much time with the public. Could be a political conspiracy. The attacker allegedly entered her office posting a complaint. Sources present at the office said that the man approached her with a complaint during the meeting which started at 8.00 am. The accused Rajesh Khimji is 41 years old and is from Rajkot, Gujarat. The accused was the in the queue and showed the CM some court papers.
Security intervened, and the person was taken away from premises. Local police were then called and the man was apprehended. The assailant’s mother claims that her on is a dog lover who was upset with her.
The Chief Minister on X said: “Such attacks can never shake my determination or weaken my resolve to serve people. I will now be among you with even greater energy and dedication.” She said that she was feeling better and that the ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme would continue. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said, “The incident unfolded after a man tried to pull the CM’s hand, which led to some jostling during which her head touched the edge of a table.”
