Our Bond Is Deep, But We Fight Often’: Abhinav Kashyap Speaks on His Strained Relationship with Anurag Kashyap
Abhinav Kashyap is a film director and screenwriter who directed the film Dabangg. Abhinav and Anurag Kashyap often remain in controversy due to their statements. Abhinav has given many interviews against Salman Khan in recent times. In a conversation with Bollywood Thikana, Abhinav spoke about his relationship with his brother, Anurag Kashyap.
Dabangg film director Abhinav Kashyap is the younger brother of Anurag Kashyap. However, there is no communication between the two for a long time. According to Abhinav, Anurag used to beat him often. He has broken all his relations with them. Because of this, his mother is very angry with Anurag and is waiting for him at home with slippers.
Abhinav replied to Bollywood Thikana after he was asked why he was fighting with everyone from Salman to Anurag. Abhinav replied, “This is a personal and emotional matter between Anurag and me. Many people don’t know, but we both grew up together. We studied in the same boarding school in Gwalior. Then we went to the same college at Delhi University. After that, we both moved to Mumbai around the same time and started working in the same industry. Therefore, our relationship is very close. We know each other better than our parents.”
Regarding the fight with Anurag, Abhinav says, “We often argue. Anurag is older than me, and whenever he feels I’ve made a mistake, he scolds me. He’s hit me several times. But I can’t retaliate because he is older than me. The last time we spoke, I felt it was his fault this time. So, I stopped talking to him.”
Abhinav also left a message in Anurag’s name. He says, “I’ve made arrangements for you. You should go home once. Your mother has collected all your old slippers and old utensils for you. You will be treated with a lot of presents.” Abhinav said that people have often misinterpreted his brother’s statements. He said that Anurag is not only his elder brother but also a mentor.
