Amid Misinformation Storm, Esha Deol Confirms Dharmendra’s Stable Condition
There are rumours that veteran actor Dharmendra has passed away. The rumours spread on Monday morning, shocking the film industry and Dharmendra’s fans. There were reports from various sources about his death that were widely circulated on social platforms. He was admitted in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of respiratory issues. Moreover, one of the senior government ministers appeared to tweet a condolence message that further increased confusion.
Amid a surge of misinformation, Bollywood veteran Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol issued a clear and firm statement. Esha Deol mentioned on Instagram posts, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. we request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papas speedy recovery.” Their family wants that official updates should be shared and any speculations should be avoided.
Dharmendra’s wife, actor-politician Hema Malini, also criticised “irresponsible” media coverage of the veteran actor’s health. Hema Malini wrote on Twitter, ‘What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.’
Hema Malini had also stated on Twitter earlier, ‘I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.’
