Dude Movie Review: A Playful Prank That Works in Parts but Lacks Depth

Dude is Pradeep Ranganathan’s fourth film, which was released on 17 October 2025. The star cast of the film includes Pradeep Ranganathan as Agan; Mamitha Baiju as Kural; Neha Shetty as Amudha, and R. Sarathkumar as Athiyamaan Azhagappan.

There is always excitement in the minds of the audience about Pradeep’s film. Pradeep has set a bar for quality content that people trust.

In this movie, you get to see Pradeep’s character Gadbad Atrangi with a mix of Rajni and Dhanush’s style. This is the first film of director Kirti Swaran. He has designed the plot of the movie Dude, keeping in mind Pradeep’s character from his old films.

The rush and chaos that happens in Pradeep’s film regarding his characters the same can be seen in Dude. The film feels like a playful prank that manages to work in parts. The film is entertaining, still the plot of the film will make you feel non-existent. The film focuses on one-sided love. The film feels like a 30-second video converted into a two-hour and 30-minute feature film.

One drawback of the film is its tendency to insert comedy into well-built emotional scenes, disrupting their impact. The song “Oorum Blood” from the movie Dude was composed and sung by Sai Abhyankkar. The lyrics were written by Paal Dabba.

Mamitha Baiju stands out in the emotional scenes. Sarth Kumar literally scares in one of the scenes through his performance.

Overall, Dude is a decent film, but it stands out as the weakest in Pradeep’s career. While some portions are well-shot and the dialogues are engaging, once the plot starts to feel baseless, everything else loses its impact. So, this is the Dude movie review.
