House of Guinness Review

House of Guinness began streaming on Netflix on 25 September. It is directed by Tom Shankland and Mounia Akl. The cast of this series features Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea, and James Norton. There are a total of eight episodes in this series. Tom Shankland has directed the first five episodes, and  Mounia Akl directed the final three.

A new show has come up on Netflix named House of Guinness, and this show has been made by the makers of Peaky Blinders. The cinematography or the attention to detail that you see in his shows is something that very few like-minded people can achieve. Though the show still has some shortcomings.

The plot of the story is that you get to see a powerful businessman Benjamin Guinness , who has a huge empire. After his death, a power tussle has started within his family. The brothers who belong to rich families also have many dark secrets of their own. We will get to see who among his four children will hold the most powerful positions and who will backstab whom.

It is a powerful family drama that has rivalry, betrayal, and the show is full of dark secrets. Though the show cannot match the level of Peaky Blinders. However, this show is going to be liked by the maximum audience. In the show, the audience can see an entire Dublin-like setup. The timeline of the 90s is portrayed very beautifully in this series. The sets and costumes exude grandeur and elegance. The show has been made with a very big production budget. The performance of the actors is good.

The background score carries a contemporary vibe. Some people may find it quite crazy, and some might feel that the makers have experimented a bit too much.
