He said that the idli shop was a very important character in his childhood. Because he had no money, he would pluck flowers, arrange them in a basket, and earn a wage for what he gathered. Then they used to buy idlis from the idli shop, which he ate. It gave him peace and happiness. Thus, this is the emotional connect that he has with the movie.
