Nishaanchi (2025): A Gripping Tale of Twin Chaos, Crime & Emotion-Driven Drama
The film Nishaanchi is directed by Anurag Kashyap. It was released in theatres on September 19, 2025. The star cast of the movie includes Aaishvary Thackeray in a dual role, alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
Nishaanchi is the story of two brothers Bablu and Dablu. Aaishvary Thackeray has played a double role in the movie.One is a troublemaker and the other is a simpleton. Bablu doesn’t like his name so he has given himself a new name Tony. He has also got a mark on his face. Both the brothers and one of their girlfriend have come to rob a bank. The scene is gripping and sets the tone of the movie. There is three hours of complete madness ahead of him.
The mother of these two brothers is a bigger disaster than them. She was once a state level shooting champion and has the courage to fight every difficult situation. There is a local strongman named Ambika Prasad for whom Bablu works and whom his mother hates. Then we go to the flashback and many knots of the story get unraveled with time. The story progresses entertainingly and engagingly.
Overall, it’s one of the first Kashyap films that actually has a stronger second half with the emotions, energy, editing AND dialogue baazi becoming tighter and more engaging. The twin brothers played superbly by Aaishvary Thackeray and the seamless VFX that makes the dual roles on par with what they pulled off in Sinners.
