Paresh Rawal Reveals the Truth Behind Awards and Industry Politics

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal spoke to Saurabh Dwivedi about favoritism on award shows. He said that there is lobby favouritism in National wards. He even said that lobbying happens at the Oscars. He has acted in many blockbuster movies like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Welcome, Hera Pheri, and OMG: Oh My God! Paresh Rawal has delivered unforgettable performances across decades.

Paresh Rawal said that the winners are told in advance that they will be given the trophy, so they should come. He expressed that he met Khalid Mohammad in Hyderabad. He was then the editor of Filmfare.

Paresh had written a registered letter. Paresh Rawal told Khalid Mohammad that the award is not for him. He said he will not accept this award. Jackie Shroff brought it with the name on it.

Paresh was once told by Subiram Reddy that they did lobby for giving an award for Sir and Sardar to Paresh Rawal. He stated that he has respect for two awards, one is The Deenanath Mangeshkar Award from Lata Mangeshkar. And the second was the PL Desh Pandey award. He remarked he respected those people who gave him the award. An award is an acknowledgement of a person’s good work. Rawal received the Padma Shri Award from the POI Pranab Mukherjee.

Paresh exclaimed that he is delighted when his work is appreciated by Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri. He said he respects them a lot. He stressed that Salman Khan’s entire family has blue blood. He added that when Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan says anything to him, he listens to them because he respects them.
