Iconic Filmmaker Rob Reiner and Wife Michele Found Stabbed to Death — Police Probe Fatal Incident
Two people were found dead at the home of award-winning actor and director Rob Reiner. Authorities say that they found an 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman at 3.43 pm at the Chadbourn Avenue home. Those are the same ages as Reiner and his wife. They were found inside the Brentwood home.
The bodies of Rob Reiner and his wife were found, and a medical aid request was made to the Los Angeles Fire Department. After the investigation, it was found that the deaths were an apparent homicide. They were found to have been stabbed to death.
According to law enforcement sources, officers discovered a man and a woman with stab wounds inside the home. Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner have been married since 1989. Investigators are now eyeing the couple’s 32-year-old adult son, screenwriter Nick Reiner, as a person of interest in the deadly stabbing. At this stage, police have not announced any arrests or formally named a suspect.
Sources say a knife is believed to be used in the attack. Detectives from the LAPD’s robbery homicide, a unit that handles high-profile cases across the city, were seen entering and exiting the home as the investigation continued. The street outside the residence was blocked off as officers secured the area.
According to the New York Post, a man at the scene identified himself as Roco and said he was Reiner’s assistant. He reportedly offered help to officers attempting to access the home. The Reiner residence, located in the upscale Brentwood neighbourhood, was decorated with holiday décor and surrounded by tall hedges and gates. Nick Reiner has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with drug addiction and homelessness. Rob Reiner was Hollywood’s most influential filmmaker. He had directed films like When Harry Met Sally… (1989), Misery (1990), and A Few Good Men (1992).
