Farewell to Satish Shah, the Comedy Legend Who Lit Up Every Frame

Famous Bollywood actor Satish Shah passed away in Mumbai at the age of 74. He was suffering from kidney-related issues. He breathed his last at 2.30 pm on 25 October 2025. He worked in more than 100 films. He worked in ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘Fanaa’. He was popularly known for his role in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’.

Satish Shah was an actor whose face brought a smile to the audience as soon as he appeared on screen. He was known for his comedy timing. Satish was a character actor and breathed life into many comedy characters. He left an indelible mark on acting in the film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’. Everyone acknowledged his tremendous acting in the film “Main Hoon Na’.

Satish was ill for many days and was undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. He was admitted to the hospital for many days for treatment of his kidney failure. His movie ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’ in 1984 was liked a lot by people. In 2003 he played a big role in a movie like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’

Satish’s death is a huge loss for the entertainment world. People across the country expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran actor Satish Shah. A Twitter user wrote, “The man who made sarcasm an art. Goodbye Indravadhan Sarabhai — thank you for all the laughter, Satish Shah.” Another Twitter user wrote, “How do you process death of your childhood favourites, the characters which made you feel Wow. Ye Jo hai zindagi, dekh bhai dekh and The most amazing Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Om Shanti Satish shah, indravadan Sarabhai.”

Satish Shah was a comedy giant. He gave the industry good, clean, fun comedy with priceless humour of everyday life. A man who was an incredible actor and who lit up every frame he was in. His warmth and brilliance will stay with us forever.
