Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer Breakdown: Vecna’s Return, Will’s Secret, and Hawkins Under Siege
The trailer of Stranger Things Season 5 has arrived. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is scheduled to release in three parts on Netflix in late 2025. The season, which features the return of the main cast along with new and familiar faces, will be set in the fall of 1987 as the characters prepare for one last battle against Vecna.
The trailer starts with the Hawkins library. This place is going to be key for this season. At the end of the last season, when the entire rift was opened regarding the upside-down, all of them were converging at one place, which was the library of Hawkins. And its effect is visible in this season also because in the main world, this entire library has been quarantined in a way. Barricades have been placed all around, and an entrance that leads to Upside-down. It seems that the location is chosen in advance. Vecna is in its old look, which we saw in season 4. It looks like a flashback sequence of most likely season 1.
There is a shot in which something is lying in front of it or a person is lying down. The man standing in front of Vecna is Will. When his Demogorgon picks him up and brings him to the Upside-down, he survives for a long time, struggles, and tries to escape from a monster. We were shown that it was a Demogorgon, but here things will be redone, and we will be told that it is Vecna. It will be shown in this season that Vecna has already marked Will. Because Vecna had a traumatic past. Vecna established a connection with Will, which will become relevant in this season.
We are shown Dustin wearing his Hellfire Club T-shirt and going to school. The audience will notice the army standing everywhere. The Hawkins town is quarantined. The entire group of heroes unites with the primary goal of finding and killing Vecna. Dustin has injuries on his face, and it seems that he fought because he misses Eddie. El can be seen using her powers more than just punching someone. The trailer showcases El jumping over a fence where there is an army base. Things are clear by seeing the map. The entire gang is trying to execute its plans through Dungeons and Dragons. A newspaper clipping highlights that hundreds of people have gone missing after the devastation in season 4.
