The Bengal Files Trailer
A ruckus erupted during the release of ‘The Bengal Files’ trailer in Kolkata on August 16. Actor Pallavi Joshi alleged that the trailer launch was not allowed.
She also alleged that there was political pressure behind the ‘ban’. Seeing the chaos, she emphasized the importance of making such films. She wants every person in India to watch this film to know the truth about Bengal.
She added that it is the state’s responsibility to give respect to actors and films.
This is not freedom of expression she said. She said that this did not happen in Kashmir. Should we think that Kashmir’s condition is better than Bengal?
She urged that all the youth of India must watch this film to know what’s happening in the state.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also slammed the West Bengal government after ‘The Bengal Files’ trailer ban in Kolkata.
He said that people have cut the wires of a going program. Multiple FIRs are lodged against us, he said.
He is fighting daily with the lawyers to get a stay for the movie. They were also refused to run the movie in the multiplex chain. He said that he had never seen a program being stopped in ITC, which is a private hotel. The managers could not give a reason why they were stopping it.
This is dictatorship, fascism, and law and order. He wants everyone to support ‘The Bengal Files’. He said he cannot be silenced.
