Varanasi Trailer Launch: Rajamouli’s Grand Vision Spanning Eras, Gods & Galaxies
Director S.S. Rajamouli launched his epic film Varanasi at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The actors in this film are Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithiviraj Sukumaran. Some reports from the recent launch event suggest the film is aiming for a Sankranti 2027 or Summer 2027 release. The trailer of the movie was shown in Ramoji Film City.
SS Rajamouli has made only 12 films till now, and all of them were superhits and some of them were blockbusters. He got real recognition from Baahubali and got global recognition from RRR. The title of his next film is revealed, and it is Varanasi.
The trailer itself speaks about the movie through its grand visuals and grand cast. From the trailer, one can understand that SS Rajamouli is going to tell us the story of different eras. The first shot is of Varanasi, which is from 512 CE, where some saints are doing yagya. Then, in 2027 CE, an asteroid is shown that will fall on Earth in Antarctica.
Then, visuals from Africa are shown featuring a variety of animals. Someone is seen in the background who is paragliding. Some hippos are shown in which a monkey is shown running for his life. Ugrabhati caves of Den Vananchal and in that cave we can see a statue like Maa Kali, but its head is severed. One can see a lady falling from above in a red saree. Then, turning towards the 7200 BCE Ramayana period, a scene directly from Lanka in which a glimpse of God Hanuman is shown.
One can see a glimpse of God Ram, who climbs on top of the monkey army and kills a big monster. The first shot is of Varanasi, and the last shot is of Varanasi Manikarnika Ghat. We can then see Mahesh Babu riding on a big Nandi, trident in hand is an intense scene.
Overall, in Varanasi movie SS Rajamouli has used the full potential of superstar. From the trailer of Varanasi one can make out that history being written in real time.
