He-Man of India: Punjabi Bodybuilder and Actor Varinder Ghuman Passes Away at 42

Punjabi actor and bodybuilder Varinder Ghuman, who was 42, passed away on 9 October. Varinder had a pain in his shoulder and then went to a hospital in Amritsar.

Ghuman suffered a heart attack during the treatment and could not be revived. Ghuman won Mr. India in 2009, and he was awarded 2nd place in Mr. Asia. His untimely death has left his fans and family heartbroken. He acted in films like Kabaddi Once Again (2012), Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014), Marjaavaan (2019), and Tiger 3 (2023). In 2010 Varinder was Mr. Asia Runner Up.

Varinder Ghuman was known as the ‘He-Man of India.’ He won the fitness icon of the year award in 2016. His nephew told News 18 Punjab that his treatment was completed at Fortis Hospital. In the hospital, his shoulder was treated, where he had two attacks.

Varinder Ghuman has made the Punjabi community proud with his remarkable achievements in bodybuilding and acting. Ghuman was chosen  by Arnold Schwarzenegger to promote his health products in Asia as his brand ambassador.

Ghuman was India’s first vegetarian bodybuilder. He has brought pride to India’s fitness community. He was the epitome of ethical sportsmanship. After his initial success in bodybuilding, Ghuman pursued a career in cinema. He always shared his workout routines on social media. He was an inspiration for fitness enthusiasts.

Pargat Singh, former captain of Indian Hockey Team has expressed his sorrow on X, “It’s deeply painful to learn that famed body-builder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman Ji passed away from a heart attack. He was a devoted vegetarian, built his body with discipline and grace. May Waheguru grant his departed soul eternal peace and give strength to his family to bear this loss.”

Varinder Ghuman’s passing has deeply shattered the hearts of his family and countless fans.
